Thank you. That is what i thought.
They are both running Server 2008r2
I am baffled by the slow speeds im seeing.
If i move them from our old storage (known to be slow) to our new 10GBE/SSD storage (which should be fast)....we see the same or roughly the same performance.
That said....i can take a Physical windows 2008 machine...and hook up the windows IScsi INitiator to our new san via a 1gb ethernet cable directly attached and mount a volume as drive E. If i copy files from drive C to drive E (20gb of large isos) it will transfer at about 180MB/sec according to windows.
IOMeter to this drive shows only about 25MB/Sec if i do a full seq 4k and only about 1200 iops. This seems way off judging by my 180MB/Sec shown on an actual file copy test.
If i try this same test (copying 20GB of Isos) from VM1 to a share on VM2......its bad...real bad. ~5MB/Sec or less....
IOMETER ran inside of either VM at 100% Seq. 4k shows about 15MB/Sec
Obviously our data isnt 100% Seq.....it is more like 90%random....maybe 10% Seq. If i try to run IOMeter with these settings it will run at less than 2MB/Sec
Something is wrong somewhere. I do know that much Image may be NSFW.
